When green goes bad

I love green.

When I was in 7th grade, I remember deciding that I like green above all colors.  It's bright, it's happy, it's festive, it's calming... it's everywhere.

Tonight the kids and I were talking about gallbladders.  I need to have mine removed next week. I'm telling you, when that little guy goes bad it can create some big pain.

Daniel wanted to know what color the gallbladder is.  John Z. said that it was green...and he's right.  Every single google images picture shows the beastly little sack in green.

Tonight I think that I like green a little less.

Arroz y Frijoles... mmmm!

Last night we watched this Rice & Beans video.  It's a two-minute explanation worth watching if you have a moment.

The children and I discussed how we plan to practice Solidarity, Simplicity & Sharing during the month of March.

Last year we enjoyed rice & beans for breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks and added bread, tortillas, honey, peanut butter and a weekly "Celebration meal."

This year we are being blessed by friends and neighbors who are gifting us with many delicious meals.  We are SO thankful for these provisions and intend to make them a part of March's Rice & Beans journey.

We're still brainstorming simple, portable R&B meals that we can enjoy when we're away from the home for various activities.  Last year we used pb&h sandwiches and r&b burritos for this purpose.  We were thinking to pare down and eliminate bread this year.  Do you have any ideas for mobile rice & beans?
